Trade and Household Packaging, In Stock

Packaging is one of those purchases where waiting three days on a courier isn't an option. At Great Lakes Packaging & Party Supplies, we keep packaging supplies for Forster businesses and households on the shelf rather than in a catalogue, so you can see what you're buying and take it with you. Cafés, takeaway shops, bakeries, retailers, holiday rental managers and people midway through a house move all shop with us for that reason. Food containers, carry bags, cake and bakery boxes, bubble wrap, pallet wrap, removalist cartons, tape, disposable tableware and cleaning consumables are all stocked, in single units or bulk. Call 0421 078 470 to check we've got what you need before you head over.

Stocked in Single Units or Bulk

A few practical things change when you buy packaging from a shop rather than a supplier's website.

See it before you buy it. Container sizes and bag dimensions are hard to judge from a product photo, and a wrong order sits in the storeroom for months.

Buy the quantity you actually need. Take a single sleeve of containers or a full carton, with no minimum order and no pallet charge.

Delivery twice a week. If you'd rather not make the trip, we run deliveries on a regular schedule.

One trip for everything. Food packaging, cleaning consumables, docket books and copy paper come off the same shelves, so a restock doesn't mean three separate suppliers.

Packaging for Trade and Home

Commercial customers tend to buy the same lines steadily: takeaway containers, carry bags, garbage bags, bin liners, hand towel, toilet paper and gloves. Let us know what you get through regularly so we can plan our stock around it. Household customers are usually here for a different reason, either a move or a project, which means removalist cartons, packing tape, pallet wrap, bubble wrap, labels and markers. Plenty of people pick up something from the celebration side of the shop while they're in, which is why our party supplies sit on the same floor. If you're not sure what a job needs, describe it to us and we'll work through it with you.

FAQs

What packaging do market stallholders usually need?
Most stalls run on carry bags in two or three sizes, plus paper bags, tissue paper and a roll of tape for wrapping anything fragile. Food stalls add containers with lids, napkins and disposable cutlery, and gloves are usually needed too.
Is cardboard or plastic better for storing goods long term?
Cardboard cartons are cheaper, stack well and are easy to label, but they absorb moisture and can sag in a damp shed or garage. Plastic tubs cost more up front and hold up far better where humidity, dust or pests are a concern.
What is the difference between bubble wrap and foam wrap for fragile items?
Bubble wrap cushions against knocks and drops, which makes it the better choice for anything with weight behind it. Foam wrap is thinner and softer, so it's used to protect polished or painted surfaces from scratching before the bubble wrap goes on.
